It is a very stylish metal-cased machine (no doubt the reason for the higher price) and noticeably quieter than the fan heater it replaced. The on/off/thermostat all work from a single dial on the back of the case.
Once the room reaches the desired temperature you turn the dial back until the fan stops. The idea is that it will re-start when the temperature falls. Unfortunately after two days the heater stopped working and had to be returned. I was unable to find the same model in stock anywhere at the time so cannot tell if we simply purchased a 'friday afternoon' machine or if there is a more general reliability issue.
