Noise noise noise noise noise. I bought this for the office, thought it would be quite small and the review said it was quiet. It is not quiet. Be warned.Not the good for office use, it makes incredibly loud noise.

Don't Turn It to the Max!. College old buildings can be a bit leaky (thermally) and windows without double glazing during the winter really makes the room quite cold. Sometimes, you need the heat boost in the morning to help you get out of bed too, and this small heater solves these problems pretty well. I've read a number of reviews before i purchased this, and it seems like fire and melting problems are quite possible. Considering that this is a cheap but powerful heater, i have stayed on the safe side and never turned it to its 2kw setting. Always at 1kw, and there has never been any burning smell nor melting plastic. The plug does get warm (it's 1kw after all) but that's about it (unlike what i've seen some reviews show overheating sockets/plugs and melting plastic), so i'd advise anyone using it to do the same as well, and use it at 1kw to be safe, or if you really need the 2kw, be sure you don't leave it unattended!.
